Fast Freshmen
The 2015 ADM Cross Country season kicked off with a meet at Urbandale that was not only a first meet for many runners, it was the team’s first glimpse of the potential resting in the freshmen.
ADM Cross Country has a whopping ten freshman this year, six of which are on varsity.
One of these runners, Sadie Jeurgens, has definitely made herself a clear asset as the team approaches Conference and State meets.
At the Winterset meet on September 8th Jeurgens ran a 21:30 5k, receiving the award of first freshman to finish the race out of multiple schools.
“I just focus on how it feels to be done!” said Jeurgens when asked what motivates and inspires her during her races, “Finishing a race is the best feeling.”
It is no question that ADM is facing a bright future with these freshman. As the season progresses Head Coach David Zwank expects to see great things from the team.
With high hopes the team continues to train hard for upcoming meets, accepting nothing less than their best from themselves and their teammates.
