Senior, London Warmuth is the student of the month. She is the daughter of Audra and Mike Warmuth, and has a 4.0 GPA . Her favorite classes in high school are the PLTW Biomedical courses because of their labs and complex problem solving. She is also considering a career in this field. She also likes FFA courses because of their preparation for the real world. She is the NHS vice president, the student council president, a track and field and volleyball team captain, a soccer referee, a member of FFA, and a participant in humanitarian cord. She volunteers with the Kiwanis, camp invention, other youth activities, and her church. She plans to attend the University of Wisconsin to pursue academics as well as track. Her major is undecided but she is interested in pre-veterinary and design marketing. London’s advice to others is to take opportunities as they are presented to you because you can never go back. Never be afraid to ask for help, either. She feels motivated to work harder and achieve higher goals, believing she has been honored as student of the month because of her time as an active ADM student showing kindness, hard work, dedication, and leadership. Payton Taylor is a Kiwanis humanitarian student of the month. She is a senior; the daughter of Mike and Lindsay Taylor. Throughout high school, she has volunteered for 216 hours including humanitarian, NHS, and senior hours. Most of these were completed at school or Make a Wish. She recommends taking all of the volunteer opportunities you can get because it’s rewarding and ‘fills your bucket.’ She is excited to receive this honor, and feels that it is a huge privilege showing off her hard work. Ella Goodrich is a Kiwanis humanitarian student of the month and the girls cross country student of the month. She is a senior; the daughter of Jennifer and Dan Goodrich. She has been doing cross country since her sophomore year and is now a team captain. She loves working with her team and finds both of her nominations this month very meaningful; her hard work is being recognized. Her volunteer experience includes concession stands, kids track camp, camp invention, blood donation, meals for the heartland, and bars for stars. She recommends that everyone make time for volunteering, especially in summer. A lot of people may feel that it’s a chore but she finds it very rewarding, especially if you enjoy the activity. Ella feels that she has volunteered a lot around town since she moved here during her freshman year and that has helped her to get to know the community. Alayna Freeman is the student citizen of the month. She is a senior and the daughter of Kate and Ross Freeman. Alayna feels she exemplifies the values of hard work, selflessness, and leadership, particularly in band where she serves as a section leader. She feels that positive citizenship is good and contagious; even more contagious than kindness. Since this is a new honor Alayna was admittedly confused when she first learned what she had received. However she feels that it reflects what she isn’t typically recognized for. She feels that she is well known in the community as a volunteer and that is why she was selected as the inaugural student citizen of the month. Officer Keller has presented her with a citizenship coin from the Adel police department and blue kindness.
Ms. Landin is a teacher of the month. This is her first year teaching. She decided to become a teacher because of her love of reading and writing. She was inspired to spread that joy when she took an intro to education class in high school. She feels proud of her students and this award is showing her that they feel loved, particularly because she always has snacks.
Chef Kubiak is a teacher of the month. This is his first year teaching. He has a unique career path as he has worked as a chef and made recipes for HyVee. He decided to become a teacher after visiting his old high school to help with their culinary program. He feels honored to receive many nominations in his very first month and is motivated to do even better in the future.
Soila Winter is a fine arts student of the month. She is the daughter of Julie and Clinton Winter and a senior. She is involved in band, choir, and theater, which have taught her patience and flexibility with others especially being understanding of whatever they may have going on personally. She has been the drum major of the ADM marching band for two years. She is also in ADM Sings and the theater ensemble. She thinks others should do those activities because they’re fun and builds a familial bond with others. Being fine arts student of the month means a lot to her; she feels a lot of kids deserve this honor. Soila works hard for the things she accomplishes and tries to work well with others. Aubree Timmer is a fine arts student of the month. She is a junior and the daughter of Melissa and Mike Timmer. She is involved in NHS, humanitarian cord, and band. These have taught her leadership, responsibility, and communication skills. She is a drum major for ADM marching band, a member of the jazz I band, a repeat all state, RRC, and honor band auditioner, and a dancer in Newsies. She believes other people should do fine arts to meet new people, learn new skills, and just have fun. It means a lot to Aubree that she is being recognized for her hard work, especially the blood, sweat, and tears she has poured into the band as a drum major. Dain Holdmeyer is the boys cross country student of the month. He is a freshman and the son of Eric and Amanda Holemeyer. Dain has been doing cross country for three years and he loves cross country because he gets to spend time bonding with the team. He feels that he is the cross country runner of the month because of his hard work for the team. Dain feels honored that his efforts are not going unnoticed. In honor of his achievements, Fareway has donated $100 to the ADM scholarship fund.
Callie Seehase is the volleyball student of the month. She is a senior; the daughter of Sarah and Tyson Seehase. She has been doing volleyball since she was in fifth grade and loves the team aspect of the sport. Being athlete of the month means a lot to her; she feels her hard work is not going unnoticed. She is sure to always give it her all and cheer on teammates. In honor of her achievements, Patrick’s restaurant has donated $100 to the ADM scholarship fund.
Annika Hillmer is the cheer student of the month. She is a sophomore and the daughter of Chasta and Rick Hillmer. She has been doing cheer for four years and loves performance times. Annika is honored to receive this title because she puts a lot of harem work, time, and effort into cheer and now has paid off. Grant Engleman is a week one and week four football player of the week. He is a senior and the son of Mark and Brenda Engleman. He’s been playing football for eight years. He loves the physical effort required and the team bond. He feels that being player of the week is a reflection of his hard work in the off season, his strength in every play, and his ability to trust his teammates.
Corbin Reed is a week one football player of the week. He is a senior and the son of Justin and Lacey Reed. He’s been playing football for 10 years and loves bonding with a team of his friends. He’s glad he was chosen as player of the week and believes it displays his team-centric mindset and effort. Corbin made long third downs this week and knows that the coaches trust him to catch the ball from afar.
Grant Jansen is a week two football player of the week. He is a senior and the son of Bryan and Kaven Jansen. He has been playing football since seventh grade, and loves the friendship and teamwork to achieve that satiating Friday win. He feels honored to receive this title because there are a lot of good players on the team. Grant recalls a powerful touch down in the second half that likely helped him get this.
Wyatt Schweiger is a week two football player of the week. He is a senior and the daughter of Matt and Jodi Schweiger. He has been playing football since his sophomore year and loves being part of a greater team which makes him a better person overall. He is honored to be player of the week and says the honor comes from his coach and teammates; not just him. Wyatt remembers a few big catches and tackles that helped him achieve this title.
Brayden Rynearson is a week three football player of the week. He is a senior and the son of Jesse and Melisha Rynearson. He’s been playing football for ten years. He loves the team aspect and always having people supporting him. Receiving this title means a lot to Brayden and it shows that he is doing his job and working hard.
Hudson Shull is a week three and week four football player of the week. He is a junior and the son of Kelly and Josh Shull. He has been playing football since eighth grade and loves playing with friends to score touchdowns. He feels special and finds it’s nice to see his hard work recognized. Hudson played hard and consistently showed effort even in an uphill battle.
Jaxson Pitzen is a week five football player of the week. He is a junior and the son of Mike and Katie Pitzen. He has been playing football for a whopping ten years and loves the brotherhood of the game. He feels proud and that his hard work in the off season has paid off. Jaxson made two powerful interceptions that helped him achieve this title.
Rhett Boston is a week five football player of the week. He is a junior and the son of Halley and Jesse Boston. He’s been playing football for six years and loves being part of a team with his friends. He’s glad to hear his nomination and thinks that a touchdown at the start of the second half helped him achieve this title.
