Multiversus has returned for its full release after the shutdown of its open beta last year, and a lot has changed since the last time we have seen this fighting game. This fighting game is a platform fighting game in the same vein as Super Smash Bros and it features characters owned by WB.
The most obvious difference is all the new content that has been added. Two new stages have been added to the game. One of these I’d Dexter’s laboratory from the TV show Dexter’s Laboratory. This stage has to varients one of which is for a less competitive audience because it scrolls from side to side. It also has conveyer belts and some electric stage hazards that can deal damage to any player that touches them. the other varients of this stage is a more competitive stage with two platforms on each side of the stage. The other new stage is Townsville from the TV show The Powerpuff Girls. This stage has one platform in the middle and has multiple different hazards due to the Powerpuff girls big villain Mojo Jojo voiced by his original voice actor.
There were also three new characters added to the launch of the game. The first character is the Joker from Batman. This character has a unique moveset where he pulls out a lot of wacky gags to fight you with. One of my favorite movies he has is one where he blows up a baloon and has the choice to ride it for more movement. The second character added was the Bannana Guard from Adventure Time. This is the regular fighting game joke character also known as the character that is meant to make people laugh. I think that in terms of a joke character this one is fine, but Bannana Guard is definitely the worst addition to the game. The last character added was Jason from Friday the 13th. This character was pretty fun because he hits hard and kills fast, but the tradeoff for that is that he is slow. my favorite movie for him is one where he breaks a bed in half because it is a reference to the movies.
The character models have been made bigger for all returning characters. Everyone’s movement speed has also been made slower across the board. The game is still decently fast, but it has been made slower since the open beta. The characters have all been voiced by there original actors, so you don’t have to listen to sound alikes. This game is free to play so anyone can buy it, but if you want any skins you will have to pay money.
Honestly this was one of the most fun experiences I have had playing a fighting game. It is just as fun as before except with more content. If you want to give the game a try it is free and I could not recommend it more.
