The Magnificent Seven is a remake of a movie by the same name that came out in 1960. As someone who has never seen the original, I cannot say how closely it follows the previous installment, but it is a very good movie, standing on its own, with plenty of western cliches and some good humor. Although the characters were mostly shallow, but for a few select facts found in the scenes between the gunfights and  shootouts. I didn’t go to this movie to get a life story, I came for some old fashion shootouts, which this movie has in spades.

My final rating puts this at an 8/10. The Magnificent Seven is a great movie to go and see with your friends, I wouldn’t recommend it for a date unless you and your significant other like comedy and western cliches.
