The new school year not only brought new students but it brought new teachers. One of those new teachers is Emily Aukes, who teaches language Arts at both the middle school and high school.

This is Aukes’ first year here at ADM but her third year as a teacher. So far, she thinks ADM is a great school and loves it.

Aukes grew up and went to school in Ankeny. She went to school at DMACC and then Minnesota State, Mankato. She didn’t know she wanted to be a teacher until the end of her freshman year of college. She decided to be an English teacher because it was her strong suit in high school and she had a passion for it.

Aukes looks forward to the rest of the year and seeing how the kids progress. She thinks ADM is a great school with a good learning environment.
