May’s Kiwanis Humanitarian Student of the Month is Tony Pawlosky, the senior son of Mollie and Joe Pawlosky. He is involved in High Flyers- a men’s volleyball club- and actively participates in his community whilst maintaining a 4.1 GPA.
Pawlosky volunteers at On With Life, a rehabilitation center for people who have suffered traumatic brain injuries. They use medical, nursing and therapy to help serve those in need. Pawlosky has volunteered consistently throughout high school, sharing his talent on the piano with the residents.
He plans on majoring in health science at the University of Miami (FL). He said, “I’m super excited to go out of state to meet new people and try new things I wouldn’t be able to experience here.”
When asked about success in high school he explained that it’s important to try your best and ask for help when you need it. He also explained that although it’s difficult to not expect perfection from yourself, try and give yourself grace throughout high school.
He believes he has been honored as Kiwanis Humanitarian Student of the Month because, “I’ve worked really hard to gain all 160 hours of service, and that means I have been able to help and serve the people in the community.”
In recognition of his achievements, Kiwanis of Adel has donated $50 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
