March’s Student of the Month is Emma McDowell, a senior to Jason and Carrie McDowell. She enjoys AP Lit and Comp, French IV, and choir and is currently involved in many activities through ADM High School while managing a 3.9 GPA.
McDowell is involved in large and individual speech, theater and the Thespian Trope, a leadership group for the ADM Drama Department. She enjoys these activities because “they keep me busy and give me something to look forward to throughout the year.”
She believes that she was chosen for Student of the Month because of her involvement and leadership within her extracurricular activities. McDowell is surprised but thankful for the recognition because she is glad that her hard work in her studies and activities has paid off.
McDowell will be attending Monmouth College next year and double majoring in computer science and theater. When asked what advice she would give other students about high school success, she said, “Accept that things won’t always go your way, but learn to work with what you have.”
In honor of her achievements, Raccoon Valley Bank has donated $100 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
