What I’ve learned in Newspaper
Since I started Newspaper, I’ve learned so much about myself as a writer and a person. At the beginning I didn’t even want to take this class, I just felt like it wasn’t going to be the class for me, considering I’m not the person that can just sit down and find the time or motivation to write. My thoughts when I first started this class was, “Why did I take this? My writing is going to be dumb,” and “I’m not going to accomplish anything in class, because writing just doesn’t spark my interest.”
As the weeks went on and I knew that I could write about things that have affected me in my life or things I connect to, it changed my thoughts completely. As I’ve looked backed at pieces I have written, I think to myself that those are pieces of writing I would never thought I would have created. This class has taught me a lot and it really has changed my thoughts on writing. You don’t always have to write about news or sports. You can simply write about things that have impacted your life, and that’s what I love about this class. I would have never thought that three or four months down the road I would actually enjoy Newspaper class and being a writer.
