Summer Reading–If I Was Your Girl
For summer of 2016, I have already picked up my first book to begin reading. The book is by an author I have never heard of before–Meredith Russo. This is Russo’s first book she has published, and it was recently published in May. But since being out already it has become a huge hit and everyone is loving it. This book is called
This is Russo’s first book she has published and it was recently published in May. But since being out already it has become a huge hit and everyone is loving it. This book is called If I Was Your Girl. Just reading the title of the book in the bookstore made me pick the book up and immediately read the inside cover.
It kind of leaves you wanting more. Russo only shares that the main character has transferred schools for her senior year and is hiding a deep past. No one knows this past, and she has her mind set on pushing everyone away this year until she can get out of high school. She does not want to tell anyone or make friends where she would have to tell them. Until, of course, she meets a boy named Grant that changes everything and she knows that she has to tell him the truth but is petrified he will not look past it. The last thing that Russo uncovers is that Amanda used to be Andrew. With that being the last thing said it is almost frustrating because I want to know if she tells him, I want to know who else finds out, and most of all if Grant can accept her for her past and who she is now.
