December 2023 Fine Arts Student of the Month is Kaylin Dains. Kaylin is a senior and the daughter of Brad and Shelby Dains who is being recognized for her participation in multiple fine arts activities.
Dains has been involved in band, speech, mock trail, news journalism, the Knitting and Crocheting Club, theater, and pit orcastra. She also holds many leadership positions within those activities such as being a section leader in the band, the president and creator of the Knitting and Crocheting Club, and the copy editor and web designer in news journalism. To add on to her already impressive resume, Dains is also a part of both the Thespian Trope and the Speech Leadership Team.
Dains feels honored to be the Fine Arts Student of the Month because she is glad her hard work and leadership roles are being recognized. When asked why she believes other people should participate in fine arts activities she stated, “I think they draw in a lot of people from different backgrounds and allows you to meet people you have not have otherwise. Fine arts also allow you to be more creative and find something you’re passionate about”.
Dains was nominated by Delaney Kahler and stated, “Kaylin does an exceptional job in the newsroom. She works tremendously well under pressure and is always willing to lend a helping hand to others. She is proactive in her work as a copy editor and I can trust that with even the heaviest of workloads she meets her deadline. Kaylin is also working to broaden her reporting skills, moving from strictly-written format to more video journalism. Kaylin is a great example of an outstanding high school journalist”.
In honor of her achievements, Lincoln Savings Bank donated $100 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
