Kelby Dimler is Student of the Month for December. She is the daughter of Kirk and Britta Dimler and has a GPA of 3.915.
Dimler’s favorite classes in high school were psychology, FCS, and all of her history classes. She plans on majoring in social science secondary education at UNI, with a possible minor in psychology.
She is involved in various groups throughout the school such as theater as Stage Manager, yearbook, NHS, ACDEC, Individuals and Large Group Speech, and is the Thespians president. “I’ve learned how to take on a leadership role and that not everything will go your way, and that’s okay,” Dimler said.
Her advice to others is to pay attention to due dates, do your best work and always put yourself first.
“It’s very exciting to be nominated, especially knowing that it came from my teachers,” Dimler said when asked what being Student of the Month means to her. “I think throughout high school I’ve made a lot of connections with teachers and have excelled in most classes, and I think they see the hard work I put in and wanted to recognize me for it. I’m very appreciative of it.”
In honor of her achievements, Raccoon Valley Bank has donated $100 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
