September’s Volleyball Athlete of the Month is Marissa Gerleman. She is the daughter of Cory and Andrea Gerleman and is a senior this year.
Gerleman has been playing volleyball since 5th grade and said she loves the sport because she enjoys playing different positions on the court. She also mentions how many opportunities it has presented her with in life.
“It means a lot to me because it is not only about volleyball, but being a leader outside of the gym,” said Gerleman when asked what Athlete of the Month means to her.
She believes that she has been honored because of the team’s success so far this season.
“All of us have worked so hard and it’s definitely paying off.”
In recognition of her achievements, Adel Vision Clinic has donated $100 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
