New Wing Opens
It’s not unexpected news that ADM has been adding on to the southern side of the high school since this past summer. The bigger news is what’s inside: classrooms for science courses that have a larger space to work and newly installed equipment for classes like Chemistry and Biology.
When all is said and done, Starla Pottorf, Sarah Boesen, Tyler Bohlke, McKenzie Gettler and Darcy Simpson will all have rooms in the new wing.
Simpson said, “I’m very excited to move because I’ll have a bigger room!”
Students will have lockers in the new hallway as well. A few Biology and Earth Science students have commented on the switch-up.
Sophomore Sydney EnglemanĀ is in a Biology class and said, “I like it. It’s a lot more open. It’s a cool room.”
Freshman Maddie Malone found the change an improvement, saying, “I like how open they are.”
The only problem seems to be in the high ceilings. Freshman Claire Mikkelsen said, “It echoes really bad… And it’s really loud.”
Darcy Simpson said, “I’m going to be so far removed.” Students will have a longer walk to all of the classrooms in the new wing.
So despite some kinks in layout and room design, the benefit to academics has created the space.
Sophomore Emily Gard said, “It’s very spacious, there’s a lot of room for the activities and equipment.”
