Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Theives Movie Review
Dungeons and Dragons, a popular board game, origionally designed by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson. After the board game became popular, the first Dungeons and Dragons movie was released in December of 2000, many movies have been made following the first one. The most recent movie being Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Theives.
Now I have never played or even remotely been around the Dungeons and Dragons board game but I did go watch the movie. The movie follows the adventure of Edgin Darvis and his close friend Holga Kilgore. Edgin was previously a thief, with his group of bandits, when Edgin was caught he asked a close friend of his and a member of his group, Forge, to protect his daughter. Forge finds Edgins daughter, Kira, and manipulates her to hate her father. Edgin is on an adventure to get his daughter back and defeat the strong sorcerer Sofina that Forge has made an alliance with to protect himself.
Although I have never played the game before the movie was pretty good. I feel like if I would have known more about the game, then the movie would have made more sense. The only downside about the movie was that the trailer made it seem a lot better than it was. It was a good movie but the trailer built it up to be more than what it actually was.
For those of you who love the game or have even played it, I highly reccomend. As for those of you who haven’t played the game or even heard of it, it is a good movie but not a great one. I have also gone to see Avatar: The Way of Water in theaters and based off of the trailer of Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Theives it seemed like it would have been as action packed as Avatar, but unfortunately it was not.
You can watch Dungeons and Dragons: Honor AMong Theives in theaters and soon anywhere you find your movies.
