Melody Koons, daughter of Wendy and Joe Koons has been chosen for February’s Basketball Cheer Student of the Month. She is a freshman and has been doing cheer for a year. Koons loves that cheer lets her meet new people and make new memories.  When asked what being an athlete of the month meant to her, she said, “It shows that I’ve worked hard and have accomplished more than I thought I could.” Koons’s leadership and ability to pay attention during games are why she has been honored as an Athlete of the Month.

In honor of Koons’s achievements, Fareway has donated $100 to the ADM scholarship fund.
