January’s Basketball Cheer Athlete of the Month is Marley Akey. Akey is a freshman, and she is the daughter of Danielle and Michael Akey. Akey has been involved in cheer for a little over a year.

Akey loves the teamwork that it takes to compete in cheer, and she also loves her position. Akey’s position on her team is a flyer, which is the person at the top of the pyramid stunting. She loves how fun it is to be a flyer and to be a part of the team.

“It’s just kind of a cool thing [being Athlete of the Month] that I’ve never gotten before so it’s really an honor,” said Akey.

Akey believes that she has been nominated as Basketball Cheer Athlete of the Month for her school spirit during games. She believes that it is her great work in rooting for our team and hyping up the crowd that has given her the honor of being Athlete of the Month.

In recognition of her achievements, Adel TV and Appliance has donated $100 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
