For the past three years, ADM has sent at least one individual to All-State Speech. This year, they sent two: Jordyn Barthman and Maya Griebel.

Barthman is a senior who participated in Literary Program at All-State. She started with a central theme–school shootings–and found poetry and prose to perform together.

Griebel is a freshman who performed an Original Oratory. This means she wrote her own piece and will present it to the audience.

These two have spent a lot of time practicing individually to build up confidence and work towards becoming better at public speaking. The All-State Speech event is a festival where their success is celebrated.

The festival was on Monday, April 4, on the UNI campus in Cedar Falls. .
