November 2022 Kiwanis Humanitarian Student of the Month: Addison Banse

November’s Kiwanis Humanitarian Student of the Month is Addison Banse. Addison is the daughter of Nathan and Jodi Banse and is a Senior at ADM. She has a 4.06-weighted GPA and has been involved in many classes throughout high school. Her favorites have been AP World because it was the first AP class that she took and she enjoyed having Mr. Perman as a teacher. She also said that Sociology was a favorite of hers because she had Mr. Rupe as a teacher and she enjoys the subject, “It’s different than any other class offered at ADM and a very unique subject.” Banse states. Another favorite of hers is Ceramics because of the freedom and creativity that it provides her with and it’s a nice break from the stress that other classes come with. Addison is a dedicated volunteer and provides service at several places including Hope Church where she gets to participate in ministry programs, Meadow View Elementry and ADM After prom.

Banse has been involved in many activities throughout the course of high school including Basketball, Volleyball, Softball, Track and Feild, and Humanitarian Cord, and she’s the Vice President of NHS. She is undecided about where she is going to attend college in the fall but knows that she wants to major in PreMed. She wants younger students to know that time management is a great thing to have and to really work on it in high school because it helps you stay organized despite being in so many different extracurriculars.

Being Kiwanis Student of the Month is a big honor to Banse because it shows that hard work can pay off and it’s nice to be recognized for working hard throughout high school. When asked why she thinks she has been honored as the Kiwanis Student of the Month Banse replied, “I feel like I’ve been a leader in our community and participated in many school activities. I’ve kept good grades and been successful as a student which has paid off.”

In honor of Addison’s achievements, the Kiwanis of Adel is donating $50 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
