On February 26th The Simpson College in Indianola held an award ceremony in which several honored students were placed as the best in their leagues. During the contest the participants were required to present their best work in any artistic form, resulting in a variety of creativity ranging from anywhere like photography to oil pastels and sculptures. Out of the many participants several students in ADM received some of the highest honors. With the top 3 winners for ADM being Sofi Davitidze coming in 1st place and in honorable mentions and last but not least- Anna Clowser for their works.
This is a great year for ADM with these accomplishments in art and design. Especially since this is the first year that the Simpson Community College has had an art contest and program for high school students all across the state. Mrs. Jennings the art teacher of the ADM high schoolers and the one who encouraged 8 talented students to submit their art for ranking has stated that this won’t be the only time she has or will take students to their peak of greatness. Over the course of many years the ADM high school has shown great potential with their artistic endeavors. pouring their hearts and souls into their projects, these students show they have the imagination, creativity, the will, and pride to create something much more than what others perceive as “just art”.
And the ADM staff would like to congratulate those who pushed towards greatness and strived to be all they can be on the artistic side of academics, those students show that you can achieve greatness away from sports and physical strain. They are the ribbon and stitching that keeps this, our great school in shape. These students pushed their limits and brought home pride, and integrity- making their teacher (Mrs. Jennings) proud of their success and admirable to see their future works.
