ADM High School’s October 2022 Teacher of the Month is Carter Tryon. Tryon teaches 9th and 10th grade science. This is Tryon’s first year teaching overall; he has just recently graduated from Central College in Pella.

Tryon decided to become a teacher because of the way his teachers treated him and everyone else. He stated that he had great role models in school, models that truly cared about each student not only academically but in other ways, too.

Tryon chose to become a science teacher due to his love of science. He said,  “I’ve always liked the outdoors, and I like how I can relate whatever I’m learning about back to the environment and even myself. When I’m sick science can explain the illness and how to get better.”

Being Teacher of the Month means a great deal to Tryon. It further proves to him that this is where he needs to be. Tryon did not grow up or go to school in the area, but right from the beginning he has felt accepted here at ADM. Tryon loves his students and the staff, there is nowhere else he’d rather be.
