October 2022 Kiwanis Humanitarian Student of the Month: Kendal Book

This months Kiwanis Humanitarian Student of the Month is Kendal Book. Kendal is the daughter of Jason and Kelli Book. She has a GPA of 4.0. Her favorite three classes are Ag production because the class is small and it makes it feel like a family, AP lang and Comp because Mrs. Basinger makes the class really fun, and AP studio art because she is able to express a lot of creativity. Book is involved in Golf, NHS,  the historian in Student Council, and the reporter in FFA, She has learned a lot from these activities but the biggest thing is leadership and communication skills. Book volunteers at Adel Elementary during her opens and loves interacting with the kids. Next year Book plans to attend either KU or MSU and plans to Major in speech pathology with a minor in business.

One piece of advice from Book to younger students would be to “keep on top of your work and if you fall behind communicate with your teachers.”

Book is very honored to be the Kiwanas Humanitarian Student of the month and thinks that it shows her hard work. She believes that she earned this award by being very involved in all of her activities.

In honor of Kendal’s achievements the Kiwanis of Adel is donating $50 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
