What Does the Venus Retrograde Mean?
Planets going into retrograde is no scientific revolution. We have known that it happens for a while, and no it doesn’t mean the planets start moving or orbiting backward. The explanation for why they may look as if they are moving in the opposite direction is some planets, such as mercury, take a shorter time than other planets to orbit around the sun, which causes them to seem as if they’re moving in a backward direction.
This phenomenon is what we call planets being in retrograde. Now, what does that mean on a spiritual level? While Astronomy and Astrology are largely different subjects, Astrology is highly based on Astronomy, each planet rules at least one zodiac sign, each zodiac sign has a constellation, and so on.
With planets being retrograde, it can have significance in things such as relationships and finances. Venus, for example, is currently in retrograde until January 29th of 2022, and this planet rules both Libra and Taurus. Along with that, this is the planet of love and wealth. Because of the current retrograde, many things can happen. It is said that you should see a sudden growth in wealth, which may not be much more than a larger paycheck or extra tips, but can still be helpful. On the other end of the spectrum, speculation says that your love life may take a turn for the worst, causing relationship turmoil such as distrust and arguments, or even possibly rekindling old relationships, whether good or bad.
To go along with the possible expectations for this current Venus retrograde, it might be worth mentioning that these will be most prominent for earth signs, and especially for Capricorns. In case you are unsure what element your sign is based under, the earth signs are Virgo, Taurus, and Capricorn. So, while Astrology is never set in stone or based on fact, make sure to pay extra attention to your relationships to maintain a healthy balance in your life.
Junior Mercedes Norris knows the retrograde affected her recently. She said, “Because of recent hard times in my life, the retrograde has affected me a lot spiritually, especially as I’ve started figuring out who I am spiritually and what my religion was, who I was, who I BELIEVED in. It affected me financially because I found a job after struggling to find one as good as my previous job. This new job is also the largest pay per hour I’ve ever had.”
After talking about her financial status, she also acknowledged it affected her romantic life this past month. “I hate retrogrades when it comes to love. Most of my exes and people I haven’t talked to in months are trying to talk to me and make their way back into my life. One of my Ex’s even tried to Facetime me.” Even as a Scorpio, a water sign, Norris was affected by the retrograde, so it’s safe to say retrogrades can resonate with anyone.
