Maya Shirley-Brown is the daughter of Dani and Steve Brown. Maya is a senior this year and has been nominated as one of November’s Fine Arts Students of the Month. Maya is currently involved in the Fall Musical, “Freaky Friday”, playing the role of Katherine Blake. Along with this activity Maya is also involved in Choir and Jazz Choir. From these activities she has gained confidence and learned how to have better stage presence. When asked why other people should participate in these fine arts activities Maya said, “you get to meet a lot of new people and it pushes you out of your comfort zone.” Maya is grateful to be nominated as a Fine Arts student this month and believes she has been honored for her hard work this year in Fine Arts.
