Kiwanis Student of the Month- Jackson Banwart

Jackson Banwart, Kiwanis Student of the Month.

Jackson Banwart, son of Bart and Leslie Banwart, was honored as Kiwanis Student of the Month for September. Banwart has a stunning GPA of 4.0, and is participating in two out of school activities. These activities include band and baseball. He says that taking band has helped him learn how to be a leader and that baseball helped him learn how to “fight adversity” as a team.
Banwart says his three favorite classes are band, AP Lang, and Financial Literacy. He enjoys band because this class provides a different experience than the other classes that most students are used to, and it’s a very active environment. Banwart says that he enjoys AP Lang because “Basinger is cool.” And finally, he enjoys his financial literacy class because it has a very practical use, and it can teach life skills. When not in school, Banwart can also be found volunteering at his church, Restoration Church.
After high school, Banwart plans to attend either Northwestern University in Orange City or Grandview University for a degree in sports management. His advice to others about success in school is just to “pay attention” and stay on top of things.
Banwart feels honored to be a Kiwanis Student of the Month, as it feels “nice to be recognized.” Finally, he thinks that he was given the opportunity to be a Kiwanis Student of the Month because of his leadership.
In honor of his achievements, the Kiwanis of Adel donated $50 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
