Doc’s Film Deliberations #5 – Soul
Soul (2020)
Joe Gardner (Jamie Foxx) is a part-time middle school band teacher whose life hasn’t quite gone the way he expected. His true passion is Jazz — and he’s very talented. but when he gets the chance he’s been chasing, he accidentally travels to another world where he helps 22 (Tina Fey), an unborn soul, find her passion, but soon discovers what it truly means to have a soul.
Opinion – This movie tackles a few topics such as life, death, purposes, and passion. From what I can tell from life, everyone has a purpose in life. Some people find it when they are young, some find it when they are older, but some of us think our purpose is one thing. Then it becomes something else after a while. Maybe we have more than one purpose in this world. We may never know until it’s too late. This is what I have learned from watching this film.
Rating – I give this film an 8.9 out of 10 because even though it had a serious message, it still had many humorous parts throughout the film. I love the animation, the music, the story, it all went together so nicely to make this film. But the way the film had ended ,it kinda left me questioning a few things left unanswered which I will not say on here so I do not spoil anything for anyone. Some of the scenes in this movie left some things unexplained.
