Brady Hegarty is the September Boys Cross Country Player of the Month. Brady is a senior at ADM High School. He is the son of Mike and Susan Hegarty.

Brady has been running cross country for six years now. What he loves about cross country is just being a part of his team and the atmosphere while he is running.

I went to the first meet of their season to take pictures of Brady, and also to see what the Cross Country experience was like because I’d never been to one. But as I was there, I saw a great leadership role by Brady in leading the team in the huddle with a speech, breaking the team down and encouraging his teammates while they were finishing.

Brady said that it feels good to be Athlete of the Month. “It feels good to be Athlete of the Month because I was chosen out of a lot of great runners on the team that would have definitely gotten this honor as well.”

He thinks he was honored as Athlete of the Month because he is a good teammate and a great leader.

In recognition of his achievements, River Valley Insurance has donated $100 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
