Abigail Gonzalez, a senior, is the daughter of Jennifer Gonzalez and is a 3-sport athlete. Devoting her life to sports, Abby has also been able to maintain a GPA above 3.0. Though she also plays soccer and runs track, Gonzalez is being recognized as February Athlete of the Month for her current winter sport, Girls Basketball.

Gonzalez has been dressing Varsity for the basketball team all four years of her high school career, and has no intention of slowing down for her upcoming spring sports. With a minor setback of her ACL surgery, Gonzalez has only bounced back better. “It feels good being able to be back on the court after my injury, and this recognition really taught me that a lot of good can come from a bad situation,” said Abby.

Bonding with her teammates this season has been a priority for this senior, as it is her last year as an ADM athlete. Gonzalez wants to make sure she has good relationships with the underclassman and be supportive because she misses that as a freshman. “It’s scary how fast time has flown through these sports, like right now it is my whole life, but what will it be in one year?” she said.

As a Central College soccer commit, Abby Gonzalez is grateful to have the opportunities that ADM offers to keep her happy and healthy. Though she plans to continue her athletic career in a different direction, Gonzalez clearly has enjoyed her time on the basketball court.
