Jordan Chapman, a junior at ADM, has been named November’s Fine Arts Student of The Month for On Stage Drama. He is the son of Chris and April Chapman, and has been acting on stage since freshman year. Jordan is involved in Drama, Band, Choir, Jazz Choir, and Art, and he has learned “to step outside my comfort zone and try new things, especially play.” Chapman has held the position of Section Leader in Choir as well as a recent inductee into The Thespians Society. To Jordan, receiving this honor “shows that being in play and all other activities has recognized me for all I’ve done. It shows that what I am a part of is much bigger than I thought.” According to Chapman, people should participate in play — even if you don’t like being in front of a crowd. To him, it is a way to help work with others and help to be a part of something bigger than yourself. In his opinion, he has been honored because “of all the hard work I’ve put into play between acting on stage since freshman year and participating in set work,” it shows his effort doesn’t go unnoticed. In honor of Jordan’s achievements, $100 has been donated to The ADM Scholarship Foundation by Lincoln Savings Bank.
