Summer as a high schooler vs being a child

Summer as a high schooler is so much more different than summer as a child. In high school you’re studying up until the very last couple of days, just to take tests to determine if you passed a class or not. As a high-schooler, you have so many priorities to take care of in the summer. You have to work, you have to do things that you just don’t feel like doing because you simply just want a break from “adulthood.” But that will never happen. As the years go by it’s gonna get harder to ever catch a break. There will be times that you will catch a very short break just to realize you will have to go back to work the next day or two later. There will be times that you will catch a very short break just to realize you will have to go back to work the next day or two later.

As a child you have nothing to worry about. At the end of the school year, you play games, eat lunch outside with your friends and you rarely have a care in the world. As a child you wake up you put your bathing suit on and you can go splash around in the pool, you run around in the yard kicking the soccer ball around, running through the sprinkler or having a picnic with your neighbor friends. Eventually, those days will  be over for everyone. But those are always the best days. Being a child you don’t have a care in the world, and you just live day by day. Summer will always be my favorite time of the year.  Being a child you don’t have a care in the world, and you just live day by day.

Summer will always be my favorite time of the year, whether I’m a high schooler or a child.  I will always make time to step away from the “adult” life and enjoy the fun parts about summer.
